Grants, Funding, and What Austin Artists Need to Know
If you're a creative professional in Austin, there's money on the table. Here's what's available right now and how to access it.
Grant Money You Can Apply For
Funding is open to Austin creatives. Deadlines move every cycle, so check each program's page before you build an application.
City of Austin — Nexus Grant (individual artists eligible)
$5,000 for new and emerging local artists and small arts businesses to produce creative public projects. Runs twice a year. Round 2 opens September 2026 (for activities in 2027), so there's time to prepare.
City of Austin ACME — full grant menu
Beyond Nexus: Elevate, the Austin Live Music Fund (for musicians), the Creative Space Assistance Program, and the Heritage Preservation Grant. ACME awarded 731 grants totaling $24M+ in FY2026.

Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA)
Statewide arts grants. Heads up: several programs (like Arts Respond Project) fund organizations, not individuals, so check each program's eligibility before applying.
